The South Devon Players, a touring theatre company based in Brixham, with previous international arts awards for it's staging of Shakespearean plays, return to the stage with William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. With a cast of primarily local actors and stage crew; joined by actors travelling to work with the company from across the UK, based on the company's reputation for excellence; Romeo and Juliet will tour a mixture of public shows, as well as into schools and community education settings; before streaming on two dedicated theatre streaming services available across the world, highlighting the incredible talent and skills that appear in Devon based theatre, in an exciting, engaging production combining innovation with tradition.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO The Brixham Pirate Festival for our stall and to all the lovely people who came along and joined in the wet sponge fun, jewellery, games etc. this allowed us to raise everything we need to get the team to perform at The Birmingham Black Box Theatre & Events with our coming tour of Romeo & Juliet with minibus and driver, fuel etc, and realated supplies for our projects. Also a massive thank you to Crafty Cwtch cafe over the road from us, for keeping us going with coffee and snacks! You have made this all possible! As a Brixham-based theatre team founded 20 years ago to help local people launch or further careers in the creative industries , bringing classical literature both to theatres, non-traditional spaces and schools; and audiences who don’t always get to experience live theatre; and so far not lucky in securing grant or sponsorship funding to achieve this; fundraising like this, is critical to our survival.
