Well, the tour of Three Musketeers is under way (for all the upcoming venues between now and January see https://www.southdevonplayers.com/box-office.html )
As director, I love getting these "candid" sidestage photos of my incredible cast and crew in action. There is a truth to them, performing in the space, in mid-action, which you can never replicate with posed photos and pretty backdrops . Plus, with our more ambitious projects that sometimes we have people assuming we will never achieve, it is great to show the work in action. This is a great team - theres an age range of about 50 years in the cast and crew, and a huge range of experience from people who have performed professionally for decades, through to people taking their very first step on stage over the last weekend. That is how we roll It is impossible to choose just a couple of pictures of this team; so here is a gallery of sidestage photos taken at Brixham Theatre. Our tour now goes on to Knowle Village Hall near #BudleighSalterton, Lipson Co-operative Academy's Muse Theatre in #plymouth, Stokenham Village Hall near #kingsbridge, Exeter Northcott's Barnfield Theatre in #exeter, Unleashed Theatre Company's Royal Lyceum Theatre in #torquay and Kingskerswell Village Hall near #newtonabbot. - Laura (Director)

Tour opening next week at beautiful Brixham Theatre - tickets can be bought online, from the theatre or from Brixham Library Our lovely cast and crew of local creatives have worked super hard together to bring you this lively, family-friendly, show, and we would love to see you there as we start our tour around Devon.
For our tour of Romeo & Juliet- and going forward - we are looking for a third technical person to join our regular team starting in January 2025 (opportunities to shadow current project in advance as well)
This person needs to be locally based (Torbay etc), able to attend rehearsals in Brixham and come to our performances in the South Devon area . The requirement is to learn the sound and lighting for the show, and be able to cover for either our lighting person or sound person if one or other is away; and also to be involved in recording our performances at Brixham (lumix camera provided). All equipment is provided- some of our venues (the community ones) require use of our portable LED lights and sound system, other venues have thier own systems in-house. Techs (the same as everyone else involved in our productions) recieve an equal split of the ticket money from the performances as things stand (its like this because we don’t get funding and our fundraising selling second hand bits on eBay and handmade jewelry via a local market and a local shop) only covers rehearsal space/ costumes/ etc, ) we do keep applying for things to change this situation but haven’t had any luck yet! The tech person can be any age over 16, if new to tech we are very happy to train them how to do it all, they should be happy to be involved with a very diverse group of people and have an inclusive outlook, besides that we look for someone who is reliable, pleasant, communicative (as working with our team and also venue staff ), wants to be part of a lively can-do team, and like everyone else in our productions, be aiming either to launch or further a career in the creative industries and make awesome shows!
