Community support can show in lots of different ways. We made a quick loan of our costume department straitjackets to a local shop for a promotional social media photoshoot. The shop in question, Vimutti is a wondeful quirky antiques and coffee shop in Brixham Fore Street.

Thank you so much to Sarah Bell of A Kick Up The Arts for the beautiful star lantern, to Crafty Cwtch for being a great meeting point, Allie and Nick of The Naked Sheep Hayle and our own Rich for helping with the parade and flying the flag (or lantern) for us, to Tristan MR FISH for being friendly and fun, Chris Slack for a couple of extra super photos, to @diverse events and Brixham Town Council for organising the parade - also lovely so see so many bright lanterns etc from everyone . We have already started planning for next year And the tour isnt over yet - you can still come and see us at Torquay, Exeter, Budleigh Salterton and Stokenham - tickets on sale at our box office.
Coming up on our 20th anniversary year, we have an amazing team, but are a bit short handed for some things behind the scenes, so we are putting this call out.
We are a well established, lively and friendly theatre company based in Brixham, bringing classical literature to life in lively and often groundbreaking shows, to local venues ranging from theatres to village halls, across south Devon, and each summer up to the Midlands. We are looking for lovely people who would like to be involved as - stage crew - front of house welcomers/ ushers - publicity assistants - fundraising stall helpers - grant bid writers The only criteria are that you have a passion for high quality regional theatre, are aged 16+ (to the skys the limit), are reliable and trustworthy, and willing to help maintain a pleasant friendly atmosphere. For things like publicity and grants, we do need good literacy as well. Time and location committment vary by the role, we try to keep things as flexible as possible without jepoardising the theatre productions, the most important thing is that everyone does the things they have agreed to do, because in a team, each person relies on everyone else to do thus. What do you get out of it? you make likeminded friends who are passionate about the arts and literature, you can build up a portfolio, references and new skills (we can also run things as college/ university work experience), you can network with a wide range of our contacts in the creative industries, join in theme photoshoots and side projects, and contribute to an important part of the local cultural landscape. And have fun! If you would like to find out more, please drop us a DM on this page or an email to [email protected] to arrange for a friendly chat about it over coffee, or a visit to see one of our rehearsals or building sessions. |
