Structurally, the building is fine, and the electrics are fine, but just about everything else is ruined, so, we are allowing the building to dry further, and then there will be a big call out to both the theatre company and the church-goers, to come together to re-plaster and repaint the building, and repair a few holes and other discovered damage.
The clearup at our rehearsal venue of Chestnut Community Centre began yesterday, after the boiler flood. Some of our team came together with Brixham United Spiritualist Church who also use the building, came together to repair. We found that the damage was worse than we thought - we had to strip the walls right back to concrete, and bring the dehumidifier back in for a few days, as lots more water was trapped behind the paintwork.

On Saturday and Sunday we had the cast photoshoot for the vast majority of the cast, and these photos will be going out this week (some already have) attached to press releases marketing the show!
Many thanks to Brixham Theatre , one of our show venues, for letting us shoot on the stage in the morning! Photos by Andrew Barnes and Laura Jury. Shows are Friday May 31st, and June 1st at Brixham Theatre, and then June 7th at the Barnfield Theatre in Exeter. Our box office page HERE has links to all the relevant tickets! Book today! Rehearsals are now well underway for our production of Les Miserables; costumes will begin to appear over the next few weeks now. The cast are working together as a fantastic team regardless of age and background. Over the next three/four weeks scripts will go down and costumes will appear!
Photos by Tabatha Cart iRehearsals are now fully underway for our production of Les Miserables. While costumes wont be making an appearance until next week, Andrew came up today and got some brilliant pictures of the rehearsals behind the scenes. We did Act 1 (the first half) today, and the team are so strong already. Behind the scenes the teamwork and cohesion is ideal, onstage the energy and dynamism is so powerful that it is amazing to think what it will become, when it is this strong already. Truly wonderful - and a privilige to direct such great actors.
A great day yesterday with rehearsals - having finished workshopping the 5 acts, we now have started in on blocking the acts. As we were working on Act 5 yesterday, we started blocking that too.
Last sunday was a brilliant day - what a turnout of amazing new and established people - and what a standard of audition. Pretty much everybody was deserving of a lead role, which made selection incredibly difficult!
We are just waiting to hear from everyone with regard to accepting thier roles, but as it stands we have been able to fully cast the entire production, and it is outstanding! We also have a new lovely crew member, Andrew, who is helping with things behind the scenes and he got some great audition photos! Many thanks to all of our lovely helpers at our fundraising stand at the Brixham Pirate Festival - we raised invaluable funds for our productions :) Also many thanks to Judi for allowing us to use the space, and to the local Brixham Police, and festival security, for coming along and volunteering to be in our stocks :) We have produced a selection of character posters for the cast of our stage production 1307; from a wonderful shoot by Emily of appletoneventphotography.co.uk, Laura and Ry of The South Devon Players! And - scroll down for a video trailer as well :)
We have been downloading more images from the film; here are a look behind the scenes at another location of the film (which is all currently in editing :) )
Editing for our film Mordred, telling the story of King Arthurs illegitimate son, based on early legends, continues. Its taking a long while as it is happening around everyones day jobs etc. But in the meantime, we have some new stills from footage filmed by the team in Cornwall at Pengersick Castle...
