In the Players, we tend to work with either Stanislavsky, or Meisner (or a mixture of both, since there are fantastic performance development skills within both, and different approaches work best for different people.) The Stanislavsky System (This is a major system of method acting. "Method" often involves experiencing a characters feelings and situation by using your own comparable memories and feelings. A word of warning: this can be quite an intense process and may not suit people if they would need to draw upon difficult or tramuatic memories, resulting in personal distress, and must never be an excuse to behave inappropriately towards others in the team, or cause harm to oneself. These are documented dangers of method acting taken to extremes.) |
