Brixham Theatre is a beautiful 240 seat traditional theatre in the town centre of Brixham, and we usually launch our theatre tours at Brixham Theatre - since it is in our home town - and is also where we film our shows for international streaming. Audience members are welcomed by a lovely team of front of house volunteers who will do their utmost to ensure that you have a friendly, accessible, well-informed and enjoyable visit to the theatre.
Accessibility
Buying tickets: Tickets can be purchased online from the Brixham Theatre website, by telephoning 01803 415987, or from the Brixham Theatre box office in person Access to the auditorium: The auditorium is on the first floor, this can be accessed either by stairs, or by an easily accessible lift from the ground floor. Wheelchair / mobility access: Entrance to the building is flat, and there is a lift to the auditorium. Brixham Theatre management generally advise to let them know in advance. if you are attending in a wheelchair so that they can ensure wheelchair space for you in the auditorium. Please telephone them or email them. Toilets: There are male and female toilets, as well as a larger toilet for disabled access, on the ground floor, these can be reached via the lift or through the main doors of the building. Assistance dogs: Assistant dogs are welcome. Viewing the stage: The stage is raised, and while much of the seating is on a level with two aisles, there is also a raised area towards the back. All seats have a good clear view of the stage. Refreshments: Brixham Theatre either provides refreshments via the cafe area and bar downstairs, or the range of soft and alcoholic drinks from a mobile bar in the auditorium. As the area downstairs is a shared space this can sometimes depend on whether another group is using it, or if there is a smaller audience for a performance. Hearing loops: Please contact Brixham Theatre for more information Smoking: Brixham Theatre does not permit smoking within the building, however audience members who wish to smoke in the interval often do so near the pillar box by the front entrance. |
