Recently, we have been looking at creating a touring rider for our shows. This is not simple - we tour to everywhere from theatres to village halls, and every single venue is unique in how it is run, what its facilities are, and what the agreements between venue and company are. However, over the years, we have encountered commonalities of both positive, and more challenging, experiences, and ultimately, for the viability of our work, the wellbeing of our team, and also to cover common challenges in touring, we have created this document, which is of course tailored to each of our productions and venues, and is based on our experiences, of things that we have found need to be noted and clarified. Having seen similar questions come up online from other touring creatives, looking for starting point at creating similar documents for themsleves (there did not seem to be anything similar existing out there already), we are sharing a template based on ours, which other touring performers may be able to tailor and adapt to the production. Obviously as time goes on, a document like this is always a working document - and even in 12 months it could look different; but if you dont start, you dont get anywhere :) Feel free to download below ![]()
