Mordred trailer, almost there - Michael Klubertanz has done the final music, Michael Mirsadeghi is doing final edit on that (I understand colour corrections etc all done, its just lining up the music etc).
We should be releasing next week linked to a crowdfund. We will also announce some extra shots and a couple of things than Andy, Michael, Laura, Lino, etc think need some reshoots or extra shots, to the affected film cast, and then over the next bit of early winter we will contact those involved to arrange reshoots (will be two or three random weekend days) next summer. Sorry it has taken so long - there have been serious health issues and life issues for people, and there is a potential hell of a lot riding on this trailer so we have really all been being super-fussy about getting it perfect, and with the massive online release-push of it, we want to tie in a "completion" crowdfund as well. Please see our current roles listed on Do-It.org. If you prefer to contact us directly, please email us on [email protected], or call Laura on 07855 090589. Please note that all tasks listed within the roles, other than the accountant and welfare officer, can be split dependent on skills and volunteer abilities. FUNDRAISING ASSISTANTS These roles to help raise funds for the group - depending on skills/ time, this could include grant writing, helping on stalls for table top sales, creating crafts for sale at table top sales, contacting companies for donations "in kind", etc Click for more details PUBLICITY ASSISTANTS These roles are to assist with getting posters out and about, sorting out press releases, getting leaflets out in local shops and info-centres, sometimes we do door-to-door leafletting (if we have the people and the time), contacting local radio, etc, with shows, casting calls and when we have the people to help, fundraising events Click for more details SAFEGUARDING & WELFARE OFFICER The welfare officer is something that we decided some years ago that we needed. Although we are not a children's or alternative needs group, we have found that with doing theatre and film, a welfare officer is still an invaluable point of contact; feedback showed that if someone was worried with an interpersonal concern, or, for example, anxious about their first show, they would often not speak to the director or main committee "not wanting to bother busy people", so we found it a good idea to have a designated welfare officer. Our current officer is moving away for work, and therefore we are looking for someone else to take up the mantle. This is a sensitive role, requiring strict confidentiality, and will be subject to references and DBS checks. A background in counseling, or similar, is also needed. Click for more details ACCOUNTANT As we move on, we are also looking for an accountant to help our treasurer, so that the financial records of the group are more legitimate - we dont own enough money at this point, to go to an accountant every year, but we also want to get things checked by an accountant, for the record, to keep everything as straight as possible. That of course is a fairly small job every year. Click for more details. STAGE & TECHNICAL CREW Stage/ set involves working a lot at rehearsals and shows, with the creation of sets, and working the set changes for the shows, (bringing things on and off, changing backdrops, etc) again the amount of work is completely dependent on the project in hand Click for more details This is something I am seeing more and more commonly asked, especially since Adobe Premiere moved to subscription services. Non-linear video editing these days is a must, and with the increases in technology, you will find yourself having to work with chroma-keying (greenscreen), colour grading and other aspects expected by serious filmmakers.
We are certainly priced right out of Premiere ourselves. But, for doing anything serious, you still need a decent editing program, so here are our free and cheap programs - Hopefully you'll find this useful - do add any thoughts or further information in the comments. All these programs have free tutorials on Youtube, and are legal, free downloads from the official websites. _____________________________________________ VIDEO Almost Free - Serif Movie Plus. You can order this for a one-time payment of £61, and download a free version. Although hard to get used to, it has a good chroma key function and basic colour correction, ideal for creating quick videos for Youtube. http://www.serif.com/movieplus/ FREE - Hitfilm. Hitfilm is a more advanced programme, the basic version is free, and you can purchase affordable special effects package upgrades, particle effects, gun flashes, etc, again this is not subscription based, and free for basic use. https://hitfilm.com/ FREE - Da Vinci Resolve. Full Hollywood-grade professional programme, ideal for any work that needs advanced colour correction. Do be aware that you need a PC with a good graphics card to run this, as it is a very heavy programme. Again, you can purchase upgrades, but the basic system is free. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/uk/products/davinciresolve _____________________________________________ STILLS FREE - GIMP You may find yourself needing to create still images for your project, or to edit photos. Again, there is one alternative to Photoshop, that we know of, which really stands up: and that is Gimp. It has a different interface to Photoshop, and can take a while to get used to, however, once you have done so, it is a quick and simple program to use. https://www.gimp.org/ ____________________________________________ AUDIO FREE - Audacity is an audio editing and recording programme, free to use: http://www.audacityteam.org/download/ ______________________________________________ ANIMATION FREE- Blender 3d is a well known free animation programme for 3d animation. https://www.blender.org/ FREE - OpenToonz is the 2D software used by anime companies such as Studio Ghibli, and to create TV shows such as Futurama - and it is also free: https://opentoonz.github.io/e/ |
