Wishing all our friends and contacts a lovely Christmas and new year and thank you so much for all your amazing support - we look forward to working with you again soon! All sorts of great things starting in January! As we come up to the final weekend before Christmas with our Saturday show at #Kingskerswell, and then our fundraising market stall at the Vigilance Weatherspooons in Brixham on Sunday, things will then slow up (on the outside at least!) while we get things ready for a very busy January - with finishing our Three Musketeers tour, reopening our theatre school, and casting for our first half of 2025 tour across Devon and to the Midlands (and streaming in the UK and USA) production of Romeo & Juliet. There are also discussions about additional things in the works supporting local people in the creative industries - hopefully in the New Year there will be more exciting announcements. We are always looking for people who want to get involved in all aspects of theatre, video and creativity - so do drop us a line if interested! We are so pleased to be closing the call for the tech crew, and welcoming some great people who will be getting involved with us.
With the pandemic, our most frequent tech, Simon, is also a paramedic, and is snowed under with his job, so we all agreed to put the call out for some other people who would like to get involved with the tech side of theatre, with lighting and sound etc. We agreed to find two other people, so that shows could be teched reliably, working alongside everyone's availabilities and commitments of life, work, etc, - and to be willing to provide training as well. As it has turned out we will be welcoming three fabulous ladies who will be learning to run tech on the shows. Over the coming rehearsals, they will each be coming to visit and sit in on a rehearsal to see and meet the rest of the team. Then, we will be arranging the tech training sessions for when they, and Simon are all available - that may take a few weeks to sort out around everyone's availabilities, but we will get there!!! Ultimately between the four, we should always have at least one, ideally two, techs on each of our upcoming shows. It is going to be so exciting to welcome them to work on our shows. - Laura Jury (photo: stock image at local theatre) #theatre #theatrelife #stage #acting #stageshow #stagelife #stagelighting #stagesound #brixham #devon #torbay #britishtheatre #womenintheatre Huge congratulations to our lovely Ben Hur cast members Parascovia and Phil. We were recently approached by a film company seeking fully paid local actors for a new commercial being filmed tomorrow- and these two awesome people were selected. This is fabulous - after all, the reason that we were founded in the first place is to support local people in building their careers as freelance actors and creatives - and with the fees coming to them from the commercial film company, they will both be eligible (should they wish) to apply for their Equity cards!
Have a wonderful time filming both of you! #theatrelife #actors #Brixham #filmmaking #torbay #theatre #SmashingTheGlassCeilings |
