The Scarlet Pimpernel tour - massive success in London, and now planning auditions for the next show.

The show tour of The Scarlet Pimpernel is over.

60+ handmade 18th century costumes are being cleaned and put away, and what a run it has been. Two months of frenetic touring to a different venue every weekend, culminating with our London debut, is finally behind is, and it was truly a show, and a team, worthy of our 20th anniversary.

The finale- our London debut- sold out- yes the theatre manager confirmed full house. The audience loved it and multiple people were stopping us to ask about us and say how good it was on the way out.
We have been asked to come back to London soon - and about our streaming. (if you are looking to stream more of our work please visit Roku or Amazon Fire, and search for the VOMO channel. )

A huge thank you to the team for working so incredibly- every single cast and crew member of The Scarlet Pimpernel should be incredibly proud.

A huge thank you to Janet of Crafty Cwtch cafe for supplying us with an incredible picnic for the journey: and we cant forget that our London debut was made possible by Brixham Pirate Festival allowing us the space to have a stall to fundraise for the cost of hiring the minibus.

London has absolutely not seen the last of us. This is only the beginning.

In the meantime, back in Brixham, we have our open auditions for our next (Devon only) tour of Jack the Ripper, on August 16th 2026, and we would love to see you there.

On Wednesday our incredible costume team have been designing some of the costumes.
Our theatre production of The Scarlet Pimpernel with 14 cast, requires around 50 costumes to be made to reproduce the clothing styles of the 1790s both in England and over in the midst of the French Revolution.
How are we managing this?

In our usual tradition of both being eco friendly and managing our large period dramas on microscopic budgets, the vast majority of our fabrics, lace ribbon etc, are from second hand sources. Curtains, sheets, upholstery fabric, tablecloths, all found via charity shops and jumble sales, to be remade into these (and other) stunning outfits by Bethany, Carol and Margot.

This is the first design day of several, so our costume team were very busy before the cast arrived for evening rehearsals

Our theatre company founder, Laura, who is also a member of Equity’s Directors & Designers national committee, was in London yesterday for a meeting at the Equity head offices on Covent Garden,# with the rest of the committee! Lots of excellent work around improving pay and conditions policies for creatives on a national basis, are in progress.
