(please be aware that there are art exhibitions, and other talks to be added, however we are awaiting the exact dates to create posters!) Obtain tickets and more information on our box office page http://www.southdevonplayers.com/box-office.html A busy spring of shows, talks, a film convention, and Castings Looking to the right and scrolling down, you'll see the posters for many of our coming events. There is also a talk scheduled for Torquay Museum in March, however, we are still awaiting the posters for that event - so expect to find it in the next newsletter, when it is open for booking. As you can see, our team have been incredibly busy, preparing for, and setting up productions over the winter, and assisting with not only our own fundraising for Mordred, but also supporting local charities, eg the Feline Network cat rescue charity, and Karing, both in Paignton. Please refer to the individual posters for booking information and registration details, or pop over to our box office page http://www.southdevonplayers.com/box-office.html for more information on individual events. The next major production, Robin of Sherwood, directed by Ryanna-Mae Lloyd and Max Coulson, is a family comedy, around 90 minutes long, with drama, action, dance, and live music by Ian Churchward of The Legendary Ten Seconds, in which the Sheriff of Nottingham (played by Darius Frost) holds a feast to celebrate his upcoming wedding, only to be interrupted by Robin Hood, who has other plans for the evening! Tickets include refreshments. Anyone interested in auditioning for the film/ stage show Mordred, is advised to email in advance for audition sides and production information. ([email protected]) - pre-production is heavily underway, and this is looking like a very exciting (and challenging!) project! We have had a very high number of children enquire about auditioning for Mordred, and we must make it very clear that other than "extras" (villagers & courtiers, who can be of any age), that there are only limited speaking roles for performers in their early/ mid teens, and that anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a parent to the castings, rehearsals and filming/ performances. |

Stallholders, cosplayers "have your photo taken with...", workshops etc wanted for Excalibur Film and TV Convention, in March 2016, Torquay.
Fantasy/ film/ scifi/ gaming/ cosplay theme only. Would also love to host a talk with someone into any of the above on creating and running a themed youtube channel, at this event as one of the attractions. Please contact us if able to attend and give that talk - lots of print and online publicity for you! (Speaker must have established themed channel on that subject) Bookings must be definite, for "meet this character" cosplayers, speakers, stall holders, and workshops. _____________________________________________________ Sorry it is voluntary, we are fundraising like fury for the film and stage show, but if you would be free, or like to book a stall, please do contact us (details on the poster, or PM this page). We have some great things already in hand, these are the things we are still looking for. It is a smaller venue, so stalls and activities may be limited in number, but we are going for quality over quantity- we plan to make it a real blast of a day for everyone who attends, regardless of age or fandom. Please share to anyone interested. - Stallholders: please note that we are looking for things that fit in with the theme of the event (film/ sci-fi / fantasy/ gaming / comics/ cosplay/ medieval crafts), sorry we cannot accept general, or "jumble" stalls. The hotel hosting the event are making their "cut" from selling refreshments, so I am sorry but we also cannot accept food stalls. If in doubt, though, please ask. Stalls are £20 - advance payment secures your place (whatever you make on your stall, is yours!) This event is helping raise production funds for the Devon & Cornwall indiefilm Mordred, - http://www.southdevonplayers.com/mordredthemovie We have received the photos from the show, by Witch Place Photography, taken at the Edge, in Brixham.
